FAQ’s
-
What do you charge for a kitchen (or bath, etc.) remodel?
This is not the answer that people usually want, but it depends! EMCR’s specialty is CUSTOM remodel work, meaning every single detail of each project can be different. After a consultation, pricing can easily be established for your project.
-
Do you charge for consultations, meetings, bids, etc.?
NO! This is all part of the superior service EMCR provides to the customer.
-
Do you detail or line items your bids?
YES! EMCR’s bids are significantly more detailed than most contractors in the industry. You will be getting precise descriptions of every task taking place on your project, as well as specific costs.
-
Do you provide timelines with your bids?
YES! EMCR will give you an estimated timeline along with your bid. This helps in making informed decisions about your project.
-
How many people do you employ/how big is your crew?
EMCR is a one man wrecking crew. Jacob works alone in all things for his projects, but he collaborates with many third party people/businesses (i.e. subcontractors, designers, etc.) to bring your dream to life. Depending on the size of the project, budget, timeline, and needs of the customer, Jacob will either either serve as the General Contractor managing the entire project, or he will physically perform all the trades to complete the project!
-
How soon can you start?
Again, not the answer people usually want, but it depends! Given that Jacob works solo, EMCR will only take on one project at a time. This ensures the upmost customer service, attention to detail, fewer mistakes/overlooked items, and the most efficient use of time. Often times, EMCR has multiple projects booked out on the calendar, so wait times regularly vary. However, much of Northern Colorado has grown accustomed to longer than normal wait times (6-9+ months) on contractors. This will NOT be the case with EMCR! We pride ourselves in much shorter lead times, and in the first year of business, no customer has waited longer than a month for their project to start!
-
Are you licensed and insured?
YES! View all credentials here.
-
Do I have to sign a contract in order for you to do our project?
YES! Contracts are signed and designed to protect both parties involved, EMCR and the customer. It is important to have written documentation of everything so there is no confusion/misunderstandings, and that all the possibilities are covered, and there is a plan in place. The contract will detail the project, timeline, cost and payment structure, change orders, rights and responsibilities, and what happens should a dispute occur.
-
Do you offer financing or payment plans?
No, payment for work must be issued upon agreed terms of payment structure in the contract. Customers need to make their own arrangements for how they will pay for their project.
-
What forms of payment do you accept?
EMCR accepts cash, check, certified check/cashier’s check, money order, and wire transfers. Debit/credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) are also accepted, but these transactions will be assessed a 3.5% processing fee. Digital services such as Paypal, Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle are NOT accepted.
-
What are your payment terms?
Payment terms can vary from customer to customer, depending on their needs. There will be a deposit paid upon signing of contract, and EMCR typically invoices for work completed and receives payment every two weeks for the duration of the project, unless the project is shorter than that timeframe.
-
What if I want to change something while work is in progress?
NO PROBLEM! EMCR prides itself in its flexibility and willingness to give the customer exactly what they want! You will not find this in most contractors. Change orders will be detailed in the contract, but EMCR will literally do anything you wish! All it takes is a discussion, a plan, and agreed upon costs and changes to the timeline.
-
What type of warranty do you provide?
EMCR provides a one year warranty on all work performed. This will cover anything on your project that didn’t last, didn’t work properly, or failed/was defective. The warranty does NOT cover normal wear and tear from living in and using the home, or damage caused by others.
